Campaign goals and accomplishments
The MU Sinclair School of Nursing is thankful for all that you have given! Here are just a few of our recent accomplishments that you have made possible:
- We met our initial "For All We Call Mizzou" goal of $3 million a full two years ahead of plan, and our second goal of $5 million a full 17 months ahead of schedule. Now, having raised over $7,015,497, we are at 140 percent of that second goal as the campaign comes to a close. Your donations have positioned us to lead the way in the field of nursing education.
- We successfully renovated our major auditorium to provide a more learning-inclusive environment for our students, and did it with no state appropriated funds. Instead, we depended on a grass-roots appeal and a major, naming donor to make this major change in our facility, allowing it to serve our students.
- To date, we have been able to identify a naming donor, Dr. LeRoy Essig, for the Clinical Simulation Learning Center and a naming entity for the school’s Simulation Education Technology Program, Barbara and Kenneth Levy. These individuals, along with countless other Building Partners, are positioning us to keep abreast of current simulation education advancements. Thanks to your support, we are within $230,894 of meeting this goal.
- With your support we were able to name and endow a new named faculty position in medical/surgical nursing, to name and endow a research faculty position, and to secure an estate commitment to endow and name a second faculty scholar position in the future.
But the fight to provide the best learning environment for our students is never over! Read on to learn where your help is still needed.
Connie Henke Yarbro Faculty Scholar in Oncology Nursing
As of October, 2008, $15,759 has been given or pledged toward this $100,000 endowment. Learn more about the Connie Henke Yarbro Faculty Scholar in Oncology Nursing, and what this oncology position could mean for our school.
Dr. Rosemary T. Porter Faculty Scholar
The "Take Stock in Our Faculty" appeal kicked off in April 2007 with five donors who contributed a combined $10,050 by purchasing 402 shares of stock for $25 each. We need your help to sell the 4,000 shares needed to meet our $100,000 goal.
As of May 19, 2009, the effort to name the "Dr. Rosemary T. Porter Faculty Scholar" has generated $41,732 from more than 1669 "shares of stock." This still leaves us needing to raise $58,268 to meet our goal, which translates into selling 2,330 more $25 shares. Learn more about the Dr. Rosemary T. Porter Faculty Scholar, and help to fund this position.
"Fund the Drive for Nurses" Golf Tournament
As of October, 2008, this annual golf tournament has garnered more than $146,000 to provide scholarships to help offset nursing student’s educational costs at MU. So far, 62 students have benefited from the more than $29,000 in awards already made. Learn more about the "Fund the Drive for Nurses" Golf Tournament, and how you can support this important effort.
Clinical Simulation Learning Center
The School is within $230,894 of achieving its goal to provide changes to our current Skills Lab. Just a few more Building Partners are needed. Learn more about the Clinical Simulation Learning Center, and what it can mean for our students.
